SUSTAINABILITY
The Global Sustainable Tourism Council is an esteemed world-renowned organisation setting the standard for sustainable practices within the global tourism industry.
Sustainability is not only about protecting precious environments and natural places but also about letting local communities and people shine as well as supporting local economies.
As we work to abide by global standards of sustainable tourism, we hope travellers will also join us in the journey toward the most sustainable tourism industry in South Greenland as possible!
The nature is our home, so please treat it with the same respect as if you were stepping into someone's house.
Buy local. Travel local.
The following companies in South Greenland have participated in the GSTC Sustainable Tourism Course and passed the final exam:
Hotel Kap Farvel
Local Greenland
Saputit Tasia Guesthouses

Visit South Greenland
This is the sustainability pledge that the entire local tourism industry in Greenland as a whole worked together to create. In contrast to other destinations that may put all the responsibility on travellers to "behave well" and take care of the environment and local societies, in Greenland we tour operators and management organisations take some of that responsibility onto ourselves as well.
It is our responsibility as the people and businesses who live in and love our country to also take care of the environment and communities just as much as it is yours. It is our responsibility to communicate the rules and requests to you as visitors, and it is our honour to be a role model for how to be in Greenland.
Read below about our collective pledge toward a better and more regenerative tourism.
  • Visit South Greenland is the regional tourism management organization. We are responsible for marketing South Greenland, including its diverse destinations and the wide range of adventure opportunities available to visitors.
