The mountains are calling!
These "younger" intrusions of unique Rapakivi granite are some of the most exquisite monoliths you can find. Well, young is relative. These giants like Suikkassuaq, Ulamertorsuaq, Naluumasortoq and others are between 1.7 and 1.9 billion years old. Aren't they just incredible!?

Tasermiut Forest
What began as a tree planting experiment in South Greenland in the 1950's quickly blossomed to a few full-blown forest plantations, and one of them just so happens to be in Tasermiut Fjord. Close to the centrally-located Tasersuaq and Kuussuaq, the big lake and the big river, the Tasermiut Forest is the perfect day-hike destination to walk amongst the giant evergreens and marvel at the fact that you are forest bathing... in Greenland!

Tasermiut Glacier
At the innermost part of the fjord lies Tasermiut Glacier, the one with the "devil horns". After about 45-90 minutes of boating, depending where you start, the glacier finally looms directly in front of you. The exposed coastline makes for an easy nature landing, if you want to walk on the rocks and see it even a little bit closer. To the glacier's southern side, there is another quite receded glacier with a highly visible moraine. Impressive, but also chilling with such an obvious picture of how much it has changed.
